Element symbol for Potassium is K, from kalium which mean 'plant ashes', with valency (charge) +1.
Chemical formula for Chlorite is ClO2 with valency -1.
Chemical formula for Chlorate is ClO3 with valency -1.
* just remember if a compund with suffix -ate usually has more Oxygen atoms than a compound that has suffix -ite

Remember for all the compounds attached to oxygen. The ones that have ite have one less oxygen attached than the ate.
Adding to what the previous guy said. Nitrate is NO3 and nitrite is NO2
